Inod Fisuf's Journal, Entry #001

Inod Fisuf's journal entry #001

I have been assigned as the leader of an expedition to lands unknown. After months of travel I have finally convinced my fellows, my associate contemporaries that it is high time that we dug in and made a home for ourselves. Out above the terrible blue, yawning maw that is the 'sky' we are vulnerable and are little less than prey to likely the same Harpies that preyed upon my father. They stole him from me, but I will not let them steal my life from me!!

We strike the earth here at Aberasmel, the land of the "Romance Merchants," where we, Zazongsogsdel meaning "The Massive Shield" will make ourselves known. In these lands we find ourselves both near the summit and valley of the mountains, and our seers have prophered that beneath the earth is the very life-blood of the world, the holy manna of the land: Magma.

I am the only seer that has agreed to accompany this expedition on it's travel into the depths of the earth. Is it that I am the bravest, or is it that I am the foolest of my kind? I am afraid that only time will tell.

Among me stand Asmel Gesothonkugushbur and Solon Kuxerthec the miners, Sodel Thushothunfofeguw the Woodworker, and Obok Tamushobitnamab and Mosus Pucfageceh the farmers. Myself, I am Inod Fisuf, the leader of this expidition. My purpose is to act as lord and leader of this rag-tag group of dwarves and lead them deep into the safety of the heart of the earth.

Let my fellows taste the ecstasy of gold.
